Lulu Day

Today was Lulu Day... a day to celebrate my first born, Londyn Joy.  I just love her spirit and joy for life!     Doing ALL THINGS LULU was the perfect distraction from all the worrying.  This kid sure knows how to put a smile on my face!

When I asked her what she wanted to do on HER day, she said "I see Daddy!"  Since Andrew has school from 9am - 10pm on Tuesdays, we decided to meet him on campus for lunch.  She was so excited to go to Daddy's school.  Although, she had her mind set on going to his actual "school class" but the parking lot was about as close as she got.

We also did lots of her FAVORITE THINGS!  I had a few last minute items to pick up at Marshall's and Londyn LOVES shopping (as long as there's no cart riding involved).  Even though she didn't get anything, she still had a blast.  When we got in the car, she said "Thanks Mom."

After shopping, we spent about 30 minutes at the McD's Playland... always a hit!  We then took advantage of the warm sunshine and went to a super fun park that has a sand pit with lots of sand toys and trucks.  If she had it her way, I would have been pushing her on the swings for the entire 1 1/2 hours we were there.  Luckily she loved the sand and slides too!

Londyn took a much needed break from HER day and took a nice long nap.  But just before I tucked her in, Kiersten (our Relief Society President) dropped by and while I was chatting, Lulu kept herself occupied by going through my purse.  She joined us at the door with this bright red pucker... she's really lucky she is cute.  Apparently, she is taking full advantage of Lulu Day... because she thinks she can get away with just about anything!

To complete a fabulous day, my friend Erin arranged for some pampering with friends to get our nails done for the big day!  Londyn LOVES her "pretty nails" as she calls them.  Thanks Erin!

I will never forget this day.

It just took me about 30 minutes to put Londyn to bed because I couldn't get myself to say goodnight.  I just laid by her bed crying, singing songs, crying, saying prayers, laughing, crying... and her giving me kisses... asking me "happy now, mommy?" "sad, mommy?"

I can do this.

Kacie, you are one sweet lady. I'm sad I didn't get to know you better when I lived in Oregon. The strength and spirit you have going through what you're going through is amazing to me and I admire you so much. I thought about you while watching General Conference on the 1st. I felt like they were speaking directly to you and it must have been such an answer to so many prayers. I hope if brought you and your family comfort and I know that life inside you is going to be much more cherished knowing that every breath she takes is a gift from God. Every day spent with her being so important that every second of every day will have meaning and purpose with everything you do and every decision you make. Stay strong and the blessings in this life and the next will be innumerable. Keep loving life
