Marine Corps Family Day

This last Saturday, we were able to attend Marine Corps Family Day.  It was a 5 hour long event and Andrew was required to stay the entire time, so we did too!  It was nice to just spend time together, eating, roaming around base and checking out the different activities.

Does it get any cuter than this?

Lulu loved exploring all the vehicles.

Chillin' on the bounce house.

Armitage's in da House

We just said farewell to Andrew's brother Chris, his wife Elle and their three beautiful kids Karina, Marcelo & Lia after a fun 6 day visit from Utah!  We were able to go to the park, OMSI, the coast and my fav- out to eat at some yummy restaurants.

We tried a yummy doughnut shop in Lincoln City!  Of course, Londyn picked out the messiest one... chocolate covered with sprinkles.  She ate every crumb!

While walking the dock in Newport, we saw lots of sea lions and people crabbing.

Going to Mo's is a tradition whenever we go to the coast, but this time we tried the original Mo's in Newport.  We liked the atmosphere and service even better than our regular location.

We had lots of fun having for Armitage's in the house and Lulu especially loved having her cousins to play with 24/7.  Now that it's back to just us three, she is bored out of her mind!

G-Sale Finds

Last weekend we held our very first G-Sale and after that experience, I have a much greater appreciation for the G-Sales that I scope out every weekend.  On Fridays, I work in the afternoon... so Londyn and I usually head out first thing in the morning to hunt for super finds!  I am a pretty picky G-Saler so I rarely actually buy anything, but today I totally scored!

I have been eyeing this pink and purple Radio Flyer trike for Lulu since her 2nd birthday, but couldn't justify the bank I would have to rob to get it for her... and even on Craigslist, they are spendy!  I like em' cheap!  I really lucked out today, because I found one for 3 BUCKAROOS!  WHAT - A - FIND!  It's in fab shape and Londyn loves it.

Londyn showed me the tassel and said "Pink bow, mama!"

I also found a My First LeapPad that came with 3 books for only 5 bucks.  She loves books and interactive toys, so it's the perfect combo!

The Mr. turns 26

Can I just say, I love this man!
On the 8th of this month, Andrew turned 26 and I think I nailed it on the spoiling!  In the past, I have always thought the bigger the surprise, the better!  But, after a few years... I have learned that my husband is a simple man and less is more.  The more extravagant plans are just not his style.

We kicked off his birthday the Friday before, and went as a family to Red Robin, followed by shopping for some new kicks! (which was an interesting experience with a screaming Lulu... who was determined to push the cart into everything, rather than sit in it... ugh).

Typical.

His actual birthday was on Monday.  Lulu and I woke him up with breakfast in bed and a new bottle of his favorite cologne.  The best part was surprising him with news that we got to spend the WHOLE day celebrating his birthday with him... he looked confused... I then explained that I had arranged with his manager a couple weeks prior and he had the day off!  We then proceeded with the entire day being about him because he totally and completely deserved it!  We bought him some school clothes and then in the evening, we had date night!  We went to dinner at Famous Dave's, followed by Coldstone... YUMM-O!

I hope my man felt as special on his day as he truly is to me.
Happy Birthday babe.

Londyn Lately

Walking Auntie Nell's dog Maggie

Determined to carry the basket at the market

Londyn HAD to wear her "pack-pack" today... while playing outside, eating dinner, in her car seat, walking at the track, playing at the park and while visiting daddy at work.  "No, MY pack-pack!"

The cutest kid in the world!

Londyn Lately

So... I just have to blog about how stinkin' cute my kid is.

Lately, she...
... says "hold you" when she gets shy or upset.
... says, "I count!  Two... B... six... eight!"
... know's the difference between what a letter and a number look like.
... when asked how old she is- says "B!", "three!" or "six!"
... when asked, what's your name- she says someone else's name and then giggles.
... is going through a phase where she hates taking a bath or shower.  To avoid raising the "stinky kid" we go to lots of parks with water features.
... is getting so BIG!  She wears a size 3T in clothing and size 6 in shoes.
... is constantly saying things are "cute" or "cool"
... takes 4-4.5 hour naps, daily.  (That's right.  Be jealous.)
... starting to really play with friends instead of just side-by-side play.

Between our little veggie garden and the massive ones at Grandma and Auntie Nell's houses, I have really enjoyed watching Londyn explore watering the plants and picking the fruits and vegetables.  Her newest fascination is zucchini.  Ours aren't big enough to pick yet, but she loves to help gather the "cchini" in Grandma's garden.  The way she says "cchini" makes me smile so much!

Lulu loves strawberries but only the ones that she picks off the plants.  She gets so excited!

Some of my favorite time spent at home as a family is when we hang out in our backyard.  This last Sunday, we spent the evening relaxing in the yard.  Andrew built a fire in the firepit and we had fun setting off some small fireworks from the 4th of July.

Daddy's little cheerleader

Ever since I can remember Londyn starting to talk, she does this cute thing where she shakes her head and says mama...dadda...baby... and pretty much anyone else she is thinking about.  It's hard to explain but we can never get it on camera!  Finally we got a glimpse.
